What is your magnificent obsession?

To many people feel their life is empty. Day by day they go through the motions, slowly watching time go by. They don’t get any enjoyment from their work but have to put the time in to make the money they need to live. But live is about all they do. With very little excitement, joy or happiness life just trudges on.

I know how hard things can be. I’ve experienced living through a period where everything just seemed fantastic almost perfect. Owning an amazing home being with my 2 beautiful children and with the wife I loved very much. My income was great and allowed us to enjoy frequent holidays and most weekends we would be out at restaurants.

I have also experienced a time where I was totally on my knees living in a small house all alone struggling to raise the money to pay for heating or food. Each day seemed to drift into another and for a while things were very hard.  The strange thing is I always had this exciting belief of what would happen in the future.

This is my message to you today.  No matter how difficult things may be right now or how much you are struggling to simply make ends meet there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel.  It’s whether or not you allow yourself to see that small glimmer of light ahead of you to drive you forward every day so you can keep taking step after step to get you closer to the other side. If you can hold on to the belief that you can make life better than it is right now and you keep doing things to make it happen, you will be proved right.

I believe that the one thing everyone needs to empower their life, which will give them a chance to change their life no matter how bad things may be for them at the moment, is having a magnificent obsession.

What do I mean by magnificent obsession? I’m referring to a vision of the life you want to live, contributing in a fantastic way, having the things you want to have, being the person you want to be, doing the things you want to do.

It’s your big picture of the future. We each have within us something we are meant to do, a purpose, and if we can find what this is and see a picture of what it would bring to our life, it will act as the catalyst to get you moving.

Surely it is obvious to anyone that you have two very simple choices about where to let your mind focus. The first is seeing life not improving just simply meandering on, where nothing seems to change and that ahead you just see misery and difficulty, you and your life not amounting to much. Alternatively you can find that picture of life getting better and better, where your life goes to new levels and everything you could dream of comes true.

The first will just drain you of energy making everyday a struggle and ahead just more of the same.  The second will inspire you to take action every day to be excited about the vision you’re working towards.

I know exactly how powerful it can be to be inspired by a magnificent obsession. Every day I wake up excited by what I do. I clearly see and have no doubts that I’ve lived through both major success and catastrophic failure for a reason, and that is to be able to help others avoid the pitfalls and develop the necessary skills to see them through their difficult times from what I’ve learnt.

My mission is to provide this information through both developing courses and writing books both of which are now at advanced stages.  The vision I’ve held on to in my head has been constant no matter what challenges I’ve met. Even being forced to virtually stay in bed unable to work read write or do anything other than sleep during December after my major eye operation.  But where my eyes couldn’t see my head could still clearly see my vision. This has spurred me on as yours would if only you could find your magnificent obsession and let it create a brilliant vision that you carry within your mind and sees you motivated into action every day.
