Don’t just exist, live a life. To truly live life, means that you really experience it, enjoy it to the fullest, never taking it for granted. Dying, death and bereavement are important parts of everyone’s lives. They happen to us all, and many of us will be affected by the death of people close to us. But whilst dying is unavoidable, while you have time here in this world you have to make the most of it. Yet way to many of you live life as already dead.
“Some people live as though they are already dead. There are people moving around us who are consumed by their past, terrified of their future, and stuck in their anger and jealousy. They are not alive; they are just walking corpses.” Thich Nhat Hanh
Not a single one of you should doubt that your life time is brief, so none of you should ever take the amazing gift of life and let it go to waste, constantly trading amazing for normal, surviving not thriving. However minutes you are given, find a way to live them, by enjoying what you do, sharing it all with special people and contributing to others making the world a better place.
Too often we are so busy that we miss what it means to live life. So many sacrifice their health in order to make money. We work as if we’re never going to die, and then die having never really lived.
“You are not here merely to make a living. You are hear in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world and you impoverish yourself if you forget that errand.” Woodrow Wilson
Too often we go through life on autopilot, going through the motions and having each day pass like the one before it.
You may not know what it is you want, but you do know that you want to live, and not waste your time here until you die and then regret how it was you lived. Well surely you don’t want to go through another year without having done anything, without having really lived life.
The thing I want you to avoid more than anything is for you to reach old age and look back on life with regrets. I don’t believe there could be anything worse than getting to the point where your life is almost over and look back to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled, how much time you wasted just being unhappy and unfulfilled.
What sacrifices we so often make.
By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, and allowing yourself to not just live in the moment, but enjoy as many seconds of your life that you can. Look for the moments where you share love, laughs and happiness. It doesn’t mean you can’t work, build a great business, but it does mean that you give just as much care and time to actually living.
Do it now. You never know when it will be too late, when maybe you lose your health and your opportunities then reduce dramatically. Health brings a freedom very few realize, until they no longer have it.
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Howard Thurman
Don’t exist. Live. Thrive. Be joyous!
“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself. Be yourself. Life is precious as it is. All the elements for your happiness are already here. There is no need to run, strive, search, or struggle. Just be. If we are not fully ourselves, truly in the present moment, we miss everything.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
Life is in the present moment, not anywhere else, and there is no point in getting anywhere if, once you get there, you only think about something else in the future. Live life in the moment, every moment, and do it now!
Ask yourself when will I start to truly live my life?” Make sure your answer is now.
